[ her lips are down here!! but still, she sits up a little further to gesture toward the wine, where a half-empty bottle sits, chilling. she's even gone ahead and put out a second glass, just for him. ]

[ He does lean in again, this time kissing the tip of her nose. That's not what she meant, but there's no need to rush things, and this is cuter. He will slide his arm around her back though, aiming to help her sit up properly.

He shouldn't, but... He exhales softly, defeated, ]

Alright... Just one though. You'll get sick if you have too much.

[ also, he missed again?? boo. anyway, tingyun smiles brightly and reaches for her glass; she's a little wobbly, but not too bad, really, mostly just quite tipsy, not blackout drunk. ]

[ stoopppp he won't next time it's fine... She's not too bad, so he'll sit next to her and lift the glass. He swirls it a bit, inhaling the smell of the wine. It has a pleasant scent to it, no doubt a good choice. He nods. ]

A toast, hm...? To us, then, [ He lifts his glass for her to clink her own against. ] May the best of our past be the worst of our future.

[ their glasses clink, and the takes a sip - a generous one, but not too gluttonous - then sets it aside with a bright smile. ]

It's what I hope for most.

[ Hiyori brings his own glass up to his lips, taking a small sip, swirling the wine in his mouth for but a moment before swallowing. He takes a moment to enjoy the aftertaste that it leaves, all of the flavor notes that its presented up until this point. ]

You picked well... I haven't had anything quite like this before, but it has a lovely flavor to it. Is it a favorite of yours?

It's one of my favorites, yes, a specialty of the Luofu. It's very good, isn't it? Only the best for my dear ones.

[ and for herself. tingyun is a generous, kind soul, but there's no doubting that she's also quite materialistic.. she likes nice things! it's clear, given her apartment is quite opulent, and full of lovely trinkets, fine curtains and tapestries, all the furniture well made of solid wood. also, her pet foxes! one is snoozing at her feet, while the other sniffs curiously at hiyori's knee. ]

It's lovely, though not nearly as lovely as you are.

[ It's a sharp contrast to his own apartment; a model apartment in appearance, rich yet simple, without much personality, and Hiyori finds himself more fond of this than his own. He lifts his hand to pet the fox sniffing at him, scratching behind it's ear, that gentle smile ever present. ]

Tingyun-chan is too kind... I'll have to treat you sometime soon, hm? It seems a bit wasteful to buy you good you can afford, but... I could cook for you, or bake or cover you in kisses...? ♡

[ Or most likely, all of the above... He has malewife energy. But at least he will lean in to offer her a kiss on the lips, soft and sweet, as one might expect of him. ]

[ she can't help but giggle at his words; she does so enjoy flattery, even if she knows not to take it too seriously. thankfully, she's observant enough to usually be able to tell when it's genuine, and when it's hot air.

the white fox at his knee pushes into those scratches with a little yip of appreciation, and when he kisses her, tingyun's expression blooms into a smile. ]

I'd absolutely love if you cooked or baked for me! That's much more meaningful, right?

[ not that she doesn't also love to buy things for her loved ones, gifting is her love language, but still, tingyun loves the idea. ]

[ Hiyori's too perfect to be real and too perfect to be genuine, but he is in that he loves people, and he is in that he can find things that he loves about them. He beams, being a person whose love language is so similar - personal and intimate things, spoiling a person and making them feel cared for. ]

I would only be too glad to... What would you like? I'm fond of croquembouche, and I have a strawberry lemon cake that is just delightful... Then of course Gateau Saint Honoré.

[ All difficult dishes to make, enough so that one can't always find them in stores. There's plenty of dishes in that vein too, but Hiyori ever has a sweet tooth. Though in fact, his choice meals are relatively simple and almost childish by comparison - ]

I'm fond of curry and omurice as well.
